Moving forward from my free draft to my final draft I have a few goals I am going to work on. My first goal is creating a naysayer paragraph somewhere essay. I feel that I am not yet extremely comfortable with constructing a naysayer paragraph and it is a goal of mine to get that skill down before the end of this course. Another goal I have is cutting my word count down. As seen in my past essays, I definitely do not struggle with getting words down on the page, I overwrite. Another big goal of mine is being strong enough to cut out some parts of my essay that do not belong. I need to work on only keeping the parts of my essay that connect and help make a point with my claim. The steps I plan to take to achieve for my first goal is to work with my resources in “My Little Seagull.” For my second goal, my plan is to on my google document, cut out parts I think aren’t the strongest at supporting my claim and copy and pasting them into a comment on the side so that I still have the comfort of having those ideas there instead of trashing them forever. My biggest challenge I think is by far cutting down my word count. I have slowly been working on it during my last couple essays but during this last essay is where I want to show that I can cut down my ideas to walk away from a side road essay, to a straight road and direct idea essay. This is a skill I have been wanting to master ever since high school and I feel that with all of the organization tools and ideas that I have been taught so far in this course I should have no problem doing that. Some resources I will seek help to if I find that my two goals are too challenging are my other peers and Emmy our writing fellow. Also, our book resources for a Naysayer paragraph and my writing support professors e-portfolio where he has made guides for help to construct a naysayer paragraph. I feel like my strong points in this essay are my multimodal aspects, I had no problem fitting those into my essay correctly both organizationally and structurally.
